Viewing a flat: what to ask

Role-play: you view a flat and ask the landlord what the price covers, how the heating works and who handles the address registration (Razgledanje stana).

Where it happens

Your flat
Your cosy flat in central Novi Sad — the base where your lessons take place.

Who you talk to

Petar (landlord)
Petar is a landlord showing a flat he rents out. Calm and matter-of-fact, he answers questions about the rent, the deposit and the utilities.

What you need to do

  1. Greet the landlord, introduce yourself and say you have come to see the flat.
  2. Ask what the price includes: utilities, internet, furniture.
  3. Ask how the heating works — central or the flat's own.
  4. The complication: the landlord is evasive about the address registration. Ask directly whether he will arrange it.
  5. Agree the next step and say thank you.
