What makes Lingomir different
- A course and a game at the same time, not one instead of the other: a full academic course of language-school depth — and a game layer of the kind the best apps have, on top of it.
- A course with a beginning and an end: 260 CEFR-graded topics from A0 to C2, each with a lesson, a cheat sheet and exercises of nine kinds (13,780 in all); every lesson academically reviewed. Most apps stop at A2.
- Built for living in Serbia, not for passing a test: 138 scenarios from the real situations of moving — the bank, the police, renting, the doctor — each practised in a dialogue with a character who remembers you.
- Every word carries its stress mark and its Cyrillic form; the dictionary is organised into 157 themed sets with spaced repetition.
- Explanations written for Russian speakers, who make up most newcomers to Serbia; the interface, dialogues and dictionary work in English.
- An honest free tier: three lessons a week, unlimited dictionary and reviews, no card, no sign-up.
What it does not have yet
- Lessons and explanations are in Russian for now; the English edition is being translated.
- Voice playback and pronunciation feedback are in Premium.
- It runs in the browser; native iOS and Android apps do not exist yet.
- The AI reviews mistakes in your speech but does not replace a tutor for pitch accent.
How it works
A five-minute placement test picks the starting topic (or start from zero). Each topic is an explanation, exercises until you are confident, and a cheat sheet. Practice happens in dialogues with the residents of a virtual Novi Sad, in scheduled word reviews and in daily quests.
