Vuk works the dental room at the health centre. He asks briefly, works in silence and explains only what he is about to do. With patients who are frightened he slows down and announces every step.
What you need to do
- Say which tooth hurts: upper or lower, left or right.
- Describe the pain: does it react to cold and hot, does it hurt at night.
- The complication: you are frightened. Say so plainly and ask to be warned before each step.
- Ask what happens today and how many visits it might take.
- Ask what you may and may not do afterwards, and say thank you.
